First Dutch Carrotmob

December 5th, 2008 by Frans Prins Posted in Activism, Environment, Trends & Marketing

This Sunday the first Dutch Carrotmob is taking place in Amsterdam. The crew of Strawberry Earth asked around in bars in Amsterdam who would give the most for greening their bar, and the bar who offered the largest percentage will get a flash mob style party visit, so that in one day the money is collected to green the bar.

For those in The Netherlands: Sunday 7 December 2008 at 9pm (sharp!) at Bar Waldorf, Elandsgracht 2, Amsterdam. The good thing with this action is that the profit of your consumptions at the bar is invested in greening the bar, so the more you party, the more effective the action. It might be busy!

The first carrotmob was organized in San Francisco, and was quite success, and now carrotmobs are organized in several cities all over the world. Carrotmobs organize consumers on a certain time and place to buy in a certain way for a special cause, may it be demanding more fair trade products or an energy or waste reduction.

Ehm, anyone interested in the domain wortelacties.nl ?!?
