Beyond Green: Dutch Sustainable Fashion Event
November 10th, 2008 by Frans Prins Posted in Blog, Fashion, Trends & MarketingEvent tip: this Wednesday 12 November there is an international symposium entitlied Beyond Green, A Fashion Odyssey in the World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam.
The aim of the symposium is to provide information to students and teaching staff in higher education, and to stimulate them to develop a vision of their professional responsibilities which goes further than merely following ‘green’ fashion trends. This year’s symposium is organized with the notion that sustainability in fashion and textiles must look towards innovations and developments in science and technology.
Speakers include trend forecaster Li Edelkoort, Fashion hacker Otto von Busch, “Phasion” artistSimon Thorogood, Mass customization inventor prof. Dominik Walcher and Eco-chick author and Director of the Centre for Fashion Science. Prof. Sandy Black.
Next tot the symposium, there will also be an exhibition. Interesting event concept, showing that green fashion is growing out of the trend and into the innovation…For those who attend: have fun!
