Free Tibet Shoes by Komodo

I just had a good long lunch with Gereon from Komodo and afterwards picked up these cool Free Tibet shoes at their new Berliner showroom in the Oranienstrasse. They are going to be on sale in February next year so I was lucky to pick up these prototypes.

Komodo is quite an authentic fashion brand, with a good blend of relaxed hippy style and original, innovative edge. Komodo has been producing fair trade and organic from the start, and been involved in their own production in family run factories in Bali and Kathmandu. Their imaginary frontman Joe Komodo is very comited to the Tibetcase, while also in reality Komodo is supporting the Tibetian case and cooperating with the Dalai Lama.

Also quite cool are the Millennium shoes by Komodo, developed together with Dutch development organisation NCDO to raise awarensss for the Millennium Goals. Wit orange elements, to fit for the Dutch olympic team…

    These tibet shoes are indeed very comfortable. I have a pair of them and they are a perfect substitute for the more traditional sheepskin slippers I like to use at home. The colors are precious.
